One can readily forget details of past performances by our young XC athletes. This would be a shame since so many performances were quite memorable to the athletes, their parents and involved coaches.
In an attempt to rectify fading human memory, I compiled selected information into a web site to be
available to all who are interested. Perhaps former athletes may wish to recall the names of former teammates or competitors, or coaches may want to research the running background of some of today's best high school XC runners.
First, I'll begin by documenting the background leading to the creation of the Wilmington Diocese CYO Cross Country program in Delaware and to record many outstanding performances by its athletes. See Startup.
Performances from the SMM, CYO and JHS meets are entered according to the year of competition.
One can use the hot links on the top of all pages to directly access data for any year. In the interest of more efficient publication of new data, this web site will only go up to the year 1999. Data highlights beyond that are accessed using the sister site Data 2. Another site called Overview summarizes highlights from all sites. An index to all CYO/CYM XC sites is found at Index.
Throughout this site, references are made to schools or teams using codes in order to save space and keep the tables more compact. The list of codes is presented below, and will apply throughout this document.
